b2evolution Footprints

b2evolution is blogging software that is very similar to wordpress. The reason is that both were forked from b2/cafelog. Seeing as it is similar to wordpress and allows commenting then its obviously a good place to consider placing related backlinks to your website.

An obvious footprint would be:
"powered by b2evolution" "keyword phrase"
The next may seem weird but since these words appear in the footer of many b2evolution blogs just throw in a keyword or phrase to get more specific and your golden.
b2 webhosting monetizing keyword

If your doing a bit of manual hunting around for some b2evolution blogs make sure you head off to their official website as they carry a big list of recently updated blogs right on their homepage.

WordPress MultiSite Footprints

WordPress MS is the replacement for WordPress MU.
Its included as part of the newest release of WordPress.
You simply add a line to a configuration file to turn it on.
Because of this you need to use WordPress footprints to find WordPress MS blogs.

WordPress MultiUser Footprints

The following are some footprints for WordPress MU (multiuser).

This is a special version of WordPress that allows you to make a blog on someone elses website. Some people will find a WordPress MU website with high PR and then create a blog on it hoping their blog will garner PR quickly as the domain already has high PR. They can also put as many links where they want as its their own blog.

Here are some examples of WordPress MU footprints:
inurl:wp-signup.php keyword
"Powered by WordPress MU running on" keyword
"Powered by WordPress MU running on" inurl:wp-signup.php keyword
"Powered by WordPress MU running on" inurl:wp-signup.php site:.edu keyword
"gimme a blog" inurl:wp-signup -"registration has been disabled"
"gimme a blog" inurl:register -"registration has been disabled"
"gimme a blog" "Just a username, please." -"registration has been disabled"
intext:"triple-check" inurl:wp-signup.php keyword

You may also wish to try the footprints without a keyword if you don't need to target a site. For example the footprint with site:.edu brings up educational MU sites but there aren't that many so that is a case where you may decide not to use the keyword.
